After reading William Dean's article on sex toy technologies that he'd like to see in the future, I couldn't help but start dreaming of my own ideal futuristic sex toy: a second pair of hands. Can you imagine having a second set of working hands that attaches to you or your lover, just for use in the bedroom? Need a little more lube? No problem. Got two hands busy at nipple and nub and need something to position the vibrator? Let your mechanical third and fourth hands do the work.
Okay, so I realize my dream of a second set of hands is far, far off in the future (and maybe strays a wee bit too far in the Stepford Wives direction). In the meantime, I'll take the next-best thing, something that's already available: the Sweet Heart Vibe. A wireless, wearable vibe that's shaped like a heart, the Sweet Heart Vibe does the work of an extra set of hands. Just slip the adjustable legs straps over your thighs, position the cushioned jelly vibe at just the right spot, and...ahhh...hands-free stimulation.
If you've ever worn a wearable vibe before, you know that many of them aren't made for real thighs (meaning anything larger or smaller than that ubiquitous size five). That's the nice thing about this vibe -- it features soft elastic straps that adjust to fit your thighs, no matter what size. And did I mention they're soft? The straps didn't catch, pull, or hang loose. In fact, they reminded me of my favorite thigh-highs: you know you have something on that makes you feel sexy, but they're so comfortable that you forget about them until you get undressed. The adjustable speed vibe packs a decent punch, and the straps hold everything snug right where you need, both during solo play and doubles sessions.
Which brings me to how best to use this girl: she's nice for masturbation, especially if, as I mentioned earlier, you always feel like you're short a hand. The vibrations are gentle, rhythmic and, if they're maybe not quite strong enough to get you off, they're likely to bring you pretty darn close. She could even be worn under an outfit (think a skirt or dress, think that's all you'll have on under there) for a longer-term tease and taunt session. Of course, just be careful when sitting down -- not only do the vibrations make a bit of noise, the pressure of chair/seat/bench against the vibe also knocks the sensations up a notch or two!
But what this vibe is really made for (I think) is couples' play. The Sweet Heart is small enough and squishy enough that it doesn't get in the way of the actual sex, and both parties get a little something extra something from it. It's easy to adjust while you're using it, and it works in almost every position you can dream up. Girl-on-top is especially nice because it allows exact positioning, and it gives you both the opportunity to play with the vibe by pressing, tapping, or altering the speed. If you need a little more stimulation, it can be paired with a second vibe with no problem.
To me, there is something sexy about being able to wear a vibrator. Maybe it's the thigh-high thing again. Or maybe it's feeling like you're taking control of your sexuality in this in-your-face, out-of-your-hands way. Or maybe I just like knowing that wearing the Sweet Heart Vibe is like having that extra set of hands I always wanted. Now, if I could just find a toy that would give me an extra set of nipples...
