Sweet Cherry Flavor
by Michael Keshigian
(07/15/09)
Plump little morsel
in your candy box,
I gave its pink shell
a lick
as you stared,
probed your filling
with my tongue
and rolled the creamy taste
around my mouth
to all those secret places
where I might sense
the nuance
of your gushing flavor.
As you awakened my palate,
I tried to appear innocent
from the guilty pleasure
this confectionery sin availed,
greeting your quiver
with a loose lip smile
while I continued to probe
the other treats
in your package
as you floated contently
in front of my teeth,
on my mouth,
grinding and
slowly melting away.
