Saving It
by Geri Digiorno
(09/28/05)
at booth memorial
home for unwed mothers
i joined the choir group
where we sang in flowing robes
that covered our protruding bellies
the salvation army ladies
preached to us about our sins
encouraged us to come on down
and get saved
i wouldn't go
i was the only girl
in their long history
who wouldn't give it up
for jesus
i had already given it up
in the back of a 37 buick
