About Clean Sheets
Founded in 1998, Clean Sheets is a premier venue for literary erotica on the Web, with over 3,000 readers a day, viewing millions of pages every month. We publish all new material every Wednesday. An impressive percentage of what we publish is picked up by major print anthologies each year, including Susie Bright's Best American Erotica series, the Best Women's Erotica series, and Mammoth Books' Best Erotica series. Clean Sheets welcomes tales of all sexual persuasions, and we are open to both established and new writers. We have two special-issue months -- July is our Erotic Feast, and February is devoted to the eroticism of travel.
Clean Sheets' independent publishing arm, Samba Mountain Press, publishes the critically-acclaimed From Porn to Poetry print anthology series, along with publishing individual works from Clean Sheets' contributors (including Blue: the Color of Desire, which first ran as a serial in Clean Sheets, and the new Mike Kimera book, Writing Naked).
Clean Sheets is also a proud sponsor of the new annual Rauxa Prize for erotic writing, which carries a $1,000 first-place award.
Our mission statement: Clean Sheets is a weekly magazine devoted to encouraging and publishing quality erotic fiction, poetry, and art, providing honest information and thoughtful commentary on sexuality to the public, and fostering an ongoing discussion of sexuality in the lives of individuals and in a global society.
About Our Readers
Clean Sheets averages more than
three thousand unique visitors each day, and serves several million
page views per month.
Surveys of our readers have provided some interesting statistics about them.
Our readers are almost equally divided between men and women. Their age groups divide fairly evenly between twenties, thirties, and forties, though the full range
is from late teens to the seventies. Our
readers are primarily heterosexual, with a strong bisexual
contingent, and most describe themselves as mildly kinky
(though we don't presume to define what that means). The vast majority
of our readers visit every single week, and we're pleased that they
keep coming back for more.
