I think that your magazine is a well thought out creation of something magnifigant. And I appreciate your your tasteful maner in doing so. Audriene B. 1/26/00 5:22 AM
For Roy Eldorado and everyone else whose waiting for the Millennium story ending - two answers. Firstly, for technical reasons we have had to delay it for a week. Secondly, there will only one of them because only one entry was complete enough to publish. Sorry about that. The good part is - it's a great ending so stay tuned. Jaie Helier 1/25/00 10:24 PM
What's up with the results of your Millennium Reader Challenge--"The Stroke of Twelve"? I thought the two best endings were supposed to be published in your January 19th issue to "great acclaim"? Roy Eldorado 1/25/00 7:28 AM

I just wanted to say that the new story by Sephera is great! I really enjoyed it. The twist half way through surprised me a little, although it shouldn't have. Good job!!
Jack, I agree, I agree. Really. Maybe I shouldn't have reviewed it at all. I could have easily reviewed something I wholeheartedly approved of, or disapproved of instead. Maybe I was just hoping that if I threw my confusion and vague discomfort out there, someone else would be able to clarify it for me. Maybe that isn't useful to the readers, though. What do people think? Mary Anne Mohanraj editor@cleansheets.com 1/21/00 9:42 AM
....lil, you made me laugh 'til tears flowed..... and they say MEN have selective hearing!! i'll never eat an oreo again, without a knowing grin... Justyn Thyme 1/20/00 10:33 PM
Lucy Moore's story quiet was superb! Her character, Kate, was wonderfully real, humanly flawed, and all woman. Being able to not just get inside her head to hear her thoughts, but to hear her body's own dialogue was a delight. Bill
re: Yellow Silk review Of course, that begs the question of "why review it at all?" If you have nothing concrete to say, that is. Your disapproval of the book is interesting, but it would have made for better reading for us if you'd have been able to think out your position clearly before publishing it. How does the attitude you sense carry over into the editorial decisions they made in regard to the actual work, for example? Where else in literature or erotica publishing do you sense similar feelings? Anything. Give us a bone, Mary Anne.
Jack said: "Mary Anne, what's up with your Yellow Silk review? You can't judge a book by its cover, even the back one." Jack, I wish I knew what was up with that review. There are a lot of good pieces in the book -- I don't think I have a quibble with any of the actual work. What makes me uncomfortable is more a sense I have of the possible attitudes of the editors, a sense based on very flimsy evidence -- back cover quotes, little words here and there in the introduction. I can't make a convincing case...but it didn't seem right to pretend that the book was fine when it's made me uncomfortable for years. So you ended up with my confusion, I'm afraid. Wish I had a better answer for you -- but if I had, I would have probably put it in the review.
While domination isn't normally the ember that makes me glow so to speak, Paul Jensi's writing is so beautifully and passionately fluid, I found myself aroused by marital conduct that would probably pave the way to divorce court in my household...sit Ubu sit :) Lori 1/17/00 9:12 PM
Gallette du Roi (isn't that a kid's game?) was delightfully pornographic without being immature or cliche. I particular enjoyed the writer's treatment of a female orgasm without any of the trite similes that typically accompany it. Keep the hard stuff coming (tee hee). John ei8htohms@aol.com 1/16/00 4:12 PM
Paul Jensi's "Galette de Roi" was extremely erotic. I particularly like the idea of domination without domineering. I really like the idea of the male in the submissive position. Renee Lolipoptrick 1/15/00 4:58 PM
Mary Anne, what's up with your Yellow Silk review? You can't judge a book by its cover, even the back one. I still have no sense of why YOU disliked the book. "very good stories" "wonderful poems"? Come on! You're more articulate than that, you can't fool me. :-) Jack 1/15/00 5:39 AM
Rex was a little over the top, and I don't mean that part about sucking himself off. Honestly, if men could reach, why the heck would we leave the house? Donut eating bastard 1/14/00 5:41 PM
I loved the story Quiet. Very arousing. It'll feed many musings. Thank you. Barb 1/13/00 6:21 PM
Excellent Poetry! Good stories, and maybe i'm just dumb, but what's up with the sewing machines? rachagogo@aol.com 1/11/00 11:44 PM
Reading "Quiet" was an incredible experience. The tale was told with such precision that I was caught up in it from the first paragraph. Lucy Moore did a wonderful job of bringing her character of Kate to life, and passages like the following made her a character that I will remember for some time: "I am trying not to remember that unlike the people in these stories, I have no one to seduce but myself, and I am definitely avoiding that thought." All in all, a wonderful story told exceptionally well. Dawn
About "Quiet": This was the second time I've read and enjoyed this story. Before she was snatched away by the pressures of real life, Lucy was a valued member of my online writer's group. I wish she'd come back to offer more of her brilliant critiques and stories. She has a fluidity with words that I admire and envy.
accessed through "Ask Isadora".... was very pleased with "Milk"...have often enertained this fantasy...if I knew this WERE possible (and depending on age) I would buy the pump tomorrow. I look forward to becoming a regular reader. Nancy
Dear Ms. Moore, I truly, truly enjoyed your story "Quiet". It expresses desires that some women didn't know they had; the desire to be controlled, loving. The desire to be dominated by someone they wish to dominate themselves. Thank you for putting these desires into such invigorating and innovative prose!
I like the zine. I like what I have read so far and the format. I wanted to say that "Impressions," by Chad Snoddy is a beautiful poem and that I don't think he has lost any of his creativity. Keep on writing Chad! I hope to contribuite some of my poems and perhaps short stories to your publication also.
What a great site! Started reading the story "Milk" and couldnt believe that someone had put this fantasy of mine on paper. And so beautifully too. I loved it and it inspires me to not let this go unfulfilled. And Troy - yes that is so beautiful - touching - thank you for this magazine - thank you thank you and thank you! Barbara 1/3/00 6:36 PM
Dear Mary Anne... I very much enjoyed your editorial, Touch Starved. I believe you have expressed a sentiment which is widely felt in this age -- which is a high-falutin' way of saying, "been there, done that." Three cheers to you for recognizing the online community as a resource in relieving some smidgen of the urgency of your need. I've found, through my own subscription list and ISP chatrooms, many friends and confidantes and much camaraderie at a time when the local availability of a good, old-fashioned bone-crushing hug is zilch. Cyber hugs sometimes pale in comparison to the real variety, but in a pinch, why not? I enjoy your magazine. Keep up the good work!
