 I
am a male in my mid-fifties, living in the Washington DC
metro area. I have been painting for close to fifty years.
My grandmother was a professional artist, and I was
encouraged to paint and draw from age five. I painted my
first oil at age nine. I have studied with a variety of
teachers, but I have never attended art school.The art shown on my Web site is work done over the last thirty years. It has not been shown before because of its sexually explicit content. In the late 1980s, an attempt to show it was made, but the response from galleries was, "Well-painted work but not of any commercial value." The response in 1996 was very similar. This sentiment is apparently correct, since most people would not hang much of my art anywhere in public view. After looking at dozens of erotic art Web sites, I decided that the Web presented an opportunity to show some of my work. The response from my Web viewers has been very gratifying. |
