I currently live in Portland, OR and have
been photographing the nude since 1991. I have shown in
several galleries and have published in Penthouse Forum,
New York; Paramour, Boston; Libido, Chicago; and Cupido,
Norway. To support my photography addiction I do detailed carpentry and remodel houses. I used to do photography for a living but the income was sporadic and bills are constant. I began collecting black and white nude postcards because it was attractive and affordable art. I covered the entire wall in my bedroom with them, viewing them each morning and evening. It was similar to a study board. I purchased a camera and took a night class at the community college to learn how to develop film and prints. I went to a gallery show featuring, a local photographer. His work, his whole persona, was just so incredibly inspiring to me. He was not afraid to push the boundaries of sensuality and sexuality. I realized that photography provided an outlet in which I could push these boundaries in my own way. Within a year of taking the class I had my first gallery show and was published within two years. I rarely use 'professional models' and prefer instead to shoot real people, having fun and enjoying life. I believe that our sensuality and sexuality are the most beautiful of human instincts. I believe that photography captures a split second in time, the reality and vulnerability, which is unattainable in any other media. |
