Digital erotica was a natural
evolution of my work from more traditional moorings in pen and ink,
pastel, and oil painting. In the early 80s I began producing adult
computer game graphics and have not returned to traditional media.
At an early age I was influenced by the great pinup artists of the
60s and 70s, and that style continues in my work today.
Recently published in Taschen's new book "Digital Beauties,"
my work is referred to as "Experimental 3D Digital Erotica."
Because I consider all of the graphic tools and 3D rendering software
available today as part of my digital tool box, my work takes on
different looks based on the tools I am using. I have no one
particular style, but an evolving style that follows technology.
The digital tools themselves have influenced my work. New rendering
software combined with digital masking and layering techniques allow
the digital artist great flexibility in creating images. However, even
with sophisticated digital tools, my particular brand of digital
erotica requires days of hand painting on the post-rendered work. This
is what makes my digital work unique.
What has surprised me most, now that I publish online, is
all the great fan mail I get from women. This to me is the ultimate
compliment, for it is them that I honor most with my work.
