I didn't start out as a photographer. When I was 14, I learned computer graphics and video production. In my early twenties, that became 3D computer graphics and complex video production. Also, my sex life got kind of interesting, and I was comfortable being around naked people who were having sex.

When I turned 30, I started working with film. I made two movies -- a short and a feature, both shot in glorious 35mm film. After making those films, I was broke, so I picked up a still camera and tried to use what I'd learned about video / film lighting and computer graphics techniques and apply it to the sort of intelligent erotica images I'd begun envisioning.
