I started in photography some fifteen years ago as a hobby. My first professional position was with an aerial photography sales company. This job mostly involved hanging out of a helicopter at 350 with a telephoto lens. I then moved onto a publishing company, producing a regional newspaper. Here I began photographing women, after the editorial policy of this paper expanded to include features such as beauty and fashion. The next stage was a regular lingerie feature, and that was when I really started taking black and white glamour photographs and semi-nudes. I was then offered a corporate calendar done in a fine art nude style, which I completed in 1994. From that, things escalated and I began getting offers of other calendars and private commissions. I started to exhibit my work on the Web, which has increased my opportunities over the last two years. I have been offered exhibitions in various parts of the world, and recently several book publishers have approached me. When I photograph beautiful women, I try to show their sensual, feminine nature. My personal preference is for black and white photography, as I think it helps to stimulate the mind's eye. I have the greatest respect not only for my subjects, but also for women in general. The female form is a thing of fickle beauty; I hope I have captured a few moments that can be admired by all. |
