Laurie Toby Edison has been a
photographer since 1989. In 1994 she published Women En Large:
Images of Fat Nudes, a black & white fine art photography book
(edited and with text by Debbie Notkin). This work went on to international
exhibition, including work in the "Gender: Beyond Memory"
exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography in 1996.
She is completing her work on Familiar Men: A Book of
Nudes, and has begun work on Women of Japan, clothed
portraits of women from many cultures and backgrounds. She was
in Japan in August 2001 for an exhibition of her recent work at the
National Museum of Art in Osaka.
