Jaeda DeWalt
artist profile

jaeda Jaeda DeWalt seeks to encompass women within a surreal universe of power, grace and sensual intrigue. Through her photographic works, this self-taught artist also explores lesbianism, her own bi-sexuality and the emotional residues of surviving incest and rape. It was this issue that initially piqued Jaeda's interest in the arts and led her to experimenting with self-portraits.

jaeda"Through my art & poetry I desire to visually enchant, emotionally engage and spiritually awaken that part of ourselves that often gets buried under the daily routine of everyday living."

Recent credits include cover art for the recently published book Nymph (Circlet Press). Photography taken from Jaeda's Color of Emotion and Infusion of Color series were featured in New York, at the Southampton Cultural Center, as part of the Children and Women of the New Millennium exhibit. This was in honor of Women's History Month (March 17th through 27th, 2000).
