Stefan
Bløndal was born 1964 in Copenhagen, Denmark. In his 14th year, (after abandoning plans of first becoming a formula 1 racing-driver and later a rock guitar player ), Stefan Bløndal began concentrating on his artistic career. During these years, his other passion was birds of prey. Stefan was educated as a falconer in England and had his own peregrine falcon at his home. Naturally, his detailed drawings reflected this interest. At the age of 20, Stefan Bløndal met his future wife, Nina Kavtaradze, a celebrated Russian pianist from Moscow, who has had an enormous influence on his pictures, both as a model and a critic. She set him off with oil painting, which brought an entirely new dimension to his solid background as a black-and-white artist. In 1987, Stefan Bløndal had his first exhibition in Copenhagen at the renowned exhibition hall Den Frie (The Independent). Since then, he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Denmark, Germany, France, Monaco, the United Arab E mirates and England. Since 2000, the works of Stefan Bløndal have been on permanent display at the distinguished Bloxham Galleries for erotic fine art in London. Stefan Bløndal has this to say about his art: "Not sharing many of my contemporaries resentment of beauty, I tend to keep an esthetical line in all my works. Women are a recurrent motif, whether they play the leading role in a sensuous scenery or in portraits. Other themes are Nature morte's, religious impressions, portraits of great personalities I admire, for example, pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli and guitarist Keith Richards. Another important element is humour." |
