Researchers: Premature ejaculation affects 20 to 30 percent
WASHINGTON (Reuters) -- Premature ejaculation occurs in just under two minutes, as opposed to about seven minutes for men able to stay the course, according to a U.S. study aimed at setting some standards for the disorder. And it can indeed lead to dissatisfaction, a sense of losing control and strained relationships, said the report released on Wednesday. The researchers timed ejaculations by giving stopwatches to the sex partners of more than 1,500 men.
"How'd I do, honey?"
"Just a sec, sweetie, I dropped the damn thing. Hey -- pretty good! Two minutes and three seconds."
"Kiss me."
"Mmmm, sure."
[sounds of kissing]
"Ready to go again?"
"You betcha!"
[sounds of physical intimacy]
[sounds of climax]
"How'd I do this time?"
"Jeez. It says two minutes and seventeen seconds!"
[chuckle, sounds of kissing, etc.]
"Hold on, hold on. Let me reset the damn thing...okay, go for it!"
[more sounds]
"Well?"
"One minute and six seconds."
"Should we try again?"
[more sounds, confused but ultimately climactic]
[sounds of prolonged labored breathing]
"One minute and four seconds."
[kissing]
"Wanna try again? If you're not too tired, I'm not too soft."
[more sounds]
[sound of watch being dropped]
CONCLUSION: Instructions for research participants should be gender-specific.
