We received almost 300 stories in this contest, and it was a delight to read all of them. From the original entries, we narrowed
it down to 14 finalists, and then the judges went to work, making the hard choices for our 6 top stories that you can read
through the links above.
We appreciate every writer's participation in this contest, and will look forward to reading more in our next contest this fall!
--Susannah Indigo, Editor-in-Chief, April 2004

First Prize: $100.00 and
publication in Clean Sheets Magazine
Second Prize: $50 and publication in Clean Sheets Magazine
Third Prize: A copy of any two Clean Sheets direct-books and publication in Clean Sheets Magazine
Three runners-up will receive a token gift from our official sponsor, Toys in Babeland!

The challenge was:
Tell us a story. Make it short -- between 1000 and 2000 words. Make
it sexy. February is erotic-travel month at Clean Sheets, and we all know it's also Valentine's Day time. So, have your story involve any kind of travel (on the subway, somewhere over China, anything you like).
You must also use the following phrases in an original manner in your story:
"every little kiss"
"harbor lights"
"spider-fingers"
Be short, sharp, poetic, or be funny, expansive, and wild, but be original.
