Rachel Kramer Bussel's done it again; brought us a delightful collection of slightly twisted, but always hot little stories. These companion books delve into the shadows of Dominance and submission from both a male and female point of view. Dominance and/or submission are mind-sets; when want and desire meet the right amount of need and forcefulness it is indeed like "coming home." The stories in these two books speak also to the mental and emotional aspects that are involved in these types of relationships. We may not understand why we need to be caned, or to wield the whip ourselves, we just know that we do and that the resulting heated backside or stinging palm leaves us breathless with want. Even though release and orgasm is the expected end result, it is the controlled journey we take to get there that is the key. These authors understand that control can be as physical as restraint or as subtle as the lightest touch.

M. Christian writes in "In Control" -- He's on Top

"I kept it on for a mental beat of ten. Not long, but long enough. I released it, keeping my hand on her shoulder. It always hurts so much worse coming off than it does coming on."

The protagonist adds a companion clip and then beats a chopstick staccato between the two excruciatingly pinched nipples. He controls her pain, when she comes, and how she comes.

In N.T. Morely's "Room 2201" -- She's on Top, Marshall returns to Mistress Caroline, seeking exactly what he says he does not want. He says that he can and will do anything, as long as Caroline does not arrange to have him taken; unfortunately for Marshall, Armand is already waiting for him. It is not only the pending act itself that makes Marshall hard in anticipation; it is the anticipation of being forced to do something he doesn't want to do that keeps him that way.

Part of living these types of lifestyles is admitting to yourself that you want it, then accepting the role you choose; blissful submission or the responsibility of controlling the scene. Whether you're exploring, confirming, or expanding your interest in Domination and submission, you will find that Rachel Kramer Bussel has assembled quite the collection of pieces from some very well-known and downright dirty authors.
